I wish I knew....I struggle with this every day...I know reasonably that non-attachment is the answer...but that is soooo hard to totally follow through with....how do you get your mind from stopping all the thinking and "what if'ing"?? Meditation is said to work and it does for the most part but then the old mind goes right back to the same old thing again. All you can do is do your best and try to take comfort in the fact that there are many other people out there that are looking for the same thing. If you can stay away from as much "drama" in life as possible, that's one start, keep a distance from the people in your life that you know are not good for you in the long run...that's what I did...and it helped immensely....you can only do so much and the rest you just have to have faith in.
Good Luck to you...I feel your pain.

by being certain of the future. Only God can help you or can guaranty you a peace of mind, for he writes histories and events before it happens. God is life. he is all-knowing, because he cause and create all things. Go read His words and do what he commands you to do, and you will have a peace of mind even in great trials for you know your future and trust in him.

I honestly, honestly, don't think you can. And if you can- it's not for long. I hope to find that in/through/after death.
