so yes, if you wanted to get pregnant, you would have started having your period.

I heard a gyno say that to get pregnant is the only reason you have your period.

Huh? Do you mean do you have to be having regular menstrual cycles (to be old enough) to get pregnant?

You are usually old enough if you are about 12 and having regular menstrual (monthly) cycles. I have heard of pregnancy as young as 11 but not very often.
