It is very obvious what God commands in the Bible despite the feminist's efforts to reinterpret the scripture using asinine arguments. I think if the church started to teach the proper set up for marriage the divorce rate among Christians would decrease. What do you think?

Ephesians 5:22+
Colossians 3:18-19
Titus 2:3-5

Yes I do agree. A lot of churches these days are so busy trying to conform to the "world's" standards because they don't want to upset anyone. Then again, not everyone believes in the Bible, but claim to believe in God, when the Bible tells us in Act chapter 1 that everything was given to the Apostles by Jesus Christ thru the Holy Spirit.

A lot of people are under the assumption that obedient means slavery-- it doesn't, however, a wife must and should ask her husband's opinion before doing or making any major decidions concerning their life and marriage together.

As you can see from some of the other answers, some people are just plain ignorant to the fact that God (Jesus) does things in decent and in order, and will not accept a woman usurping authority over a man, whether it be in marriage, or
Church.

And as for the question, Why don't men be obedient to the women? Well the Bible teaches us that woman was made for the man, not man for the woman.

I know a lot of people will disagree with my answer, but I am just speaking what the Lord revealed to me by opening up my understanding of this matter.

I AM NO MANS TOY AND NEVER WILL BE NO MAN COMMANDS ME I AM NOT ABOUT TO BE A MANS SLAVE AND CATER TO HIS EVERY NEED NO WAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NO MATTER WHAT THE DAMN BIBLE SAYS Women DESERVE THE SAME RIGHTS. A man should not be commanded by a woman and a woman should not be commanded by a man. If the world worked the way you want it to. TRust me there would be more male deaths then womens death because women would kill the men for odering them around. This is the 21st century MEN ARE NO BETTER THEN WOMEN!!!! If men take over the world I soon kill my self rather than be under the order of a man. THANK YOU VERY MUCH!Women are to be respected and honored just like men. A long time ago most men treated women like crap. Now men treat women nicely! Would you really want to go back to a world where women were thought to be more worthless then dogs? I know I wouldnt want that and most other women would agree with me! Like I said I'd rather die.

Well this is what I read in the bible.
I would like to sell my daughter into slavery, as it suggests in exodus 21:7.
How about: I know I am allowed no contact with a woman while she is in her period of menstrual uncleanliness(lev. 15:19-24.) The problem is, how do I tell? I have tried asking, but most women take offense.
God does not seem to favor women as much as men. Is this because men wrote the bible?

Women are to be obedient towards their husbands just as a husband is to be the same to his wife. The bible was written by men for a male dominated society. More often than not in the bible, one verse will say do not act this way and then an other will justify the act. Unfortunately for us, the bible is an interprtation of the original words (since it was not written in today's American English), so we need to not be so concerned with each verse, each word, each individual tiny point. I feel that if we do, we will no longer have faith, in anything.

Not everyone believes in the same God or goes to church. You need to realize that. Its good that you have your own opinion as we all do but its not the reason why people are getting divorce. Take me for example, I left my husband b/c he was irresponsible and there was no trust between us. I couldn't depend on him to pay the bills, take care of our daughter, or be a good man. So its not always about the church to help structure marriages.

Many churches teach this and would also include man's obedience to God first. Some church 'leaders' teach things for itchy ears because of a desire for money or attention, caring what people think, not about what God thinks (perhaps 80%). Most women from the 80's & 90's "Me" generation of selfishness, and men flooded with pornography on media and internet to please themselves have cut themselves far short of 'holy' matrimoney.
As Christ himself will come for a perfect bride without spot or wrinkle or unequaly yoked, He will give many leaders for 'the perfecting of the saints' to those who seek Him diligently. Those who want less there will be 'leaders' to tell them what they want to hear to get what they want.

Agreed, but so many men are not righteous...eeer however ya spell that :). Look at all the women who are abused by their husbands. Should the be punished by God for not obeying their husband? I dont believe so....Even Christians make mistakes...we're all sinners....so what happens when a Christian man cheats on his wife??? Even if she is "obedient" to him....what then? Does she just except it and any diseases and effects that may come with what her unfaithful husband has done???

I was married to a man for 30 years. My parents sold me into slavery to him. We were members of a cult who taught the woman was to be obedient to the man. All the women were treated poorly. Even the pastor's wife was treated like this. I finally escaped when my last son started college.

When I spoke against him he would bring in one of my pets and kill it in front of me.

I now have a wonderful husband, who I am obedient to, and we attend a great church. But I no longer have to suffer the abuse of my first husband.

I guess it just depends on what church you are talking about.
I belong to a baptist church and we deal with this subject regularly. Since you know where the scriptures, read them in your bible and receive the teaching from God's word.

It depends on what church you are referring to. My church DOES teach a wife's obedience to her husband. My Bishop is always emphasizing this in most of his messages. Therefore, you can't categorize the Church by saying they are not teaching this, as I said earlier, it depends on the Church you attend. If they are not "teaching" Bible principles, then perhaps it's time to change locales.
