when i logged on it said"whoa you've earned -9 points" how do you lose points?

By asking a question or deleting an answer do you lose points. Below is copied from Yahoo! Answers FAQ:

If it honestly said you have EARNED, then that is not a negative, its a positive. That means you gained 9 points. Normally if you lost points, it would tell you that you LOST points.

Go to your Q&A page and then on the right side of the page, check the points you gained. There should be a list of how you gained or lost points and it lists all your recent activity.

You would only lose points if someone reported you and they removed your question or if you asked a question recently.
