i desperetly need a wiring diagram for my 1996 nitro bass boat...if anyone knows where i can get one, it would be greatly appreciated.
all the wiring works accept the hotwire to the switch...which would seem to be grounded somewhere...will probably have to start from scratch...since we replaced the starter switch...and that wasn't it....everything else works, just can't get switch to come on....any ideas?

fuses are working
checked the kill switch
ended up jumping the engine...directly from the battery, and pulling the fuel line to shut it off.
don't want to do this forever...any other ideas?

It sounds to me like you can not crank the motor from the key switch? There is a neutral safety switch in the control box that maybe at fault. Can you hear the starter solenoid click when you try to crank the engine? Do your gauges come on when you turn the key on? If so, you are getting power to the switch. If you have power and no click, hold the key to the start position and move the control handle to fwd or rev and see if the engine cranks. If so, fix the neutral safety switch.

Get a hold of Nitro Boats that is your best bet. If not check your fusable link to your engine and make sure it is working. You need to find out where the (hot wire) is running from before you start if this wire is grounding you could pop all you circuits and end up spending way to much fix it. Do not ever jump start your engine this tells me your solenoid is not working so start there and see what happens.

There is not a wiring diagram for the boat but they do make them for the engine that should cover it.
Check the safety or kill switch

Power on both sides of the kill switch or just power going to it?

Look for a temp safety switch.

If you have added anything electrical remove it. Pump, lights, fish finder, on board charger etc.

Check the fuse ,Usually located under the dash or near the battery location . You need a meter to check continuity of the wire to ground. You can pick one up for about $10.00 . If it shows continuity to ground then you need to find the short or replace the wire . It's not too complicated you shouldn't need a wiring schematic
