If your original company could not offer you a position that met your physical disability restrictions (ie you normally work in the shipping dept loading 50lb boxes, and you need to be on restriction without any lifing and your company didn't have a job where you could be sitting or not lifting), and your new part time job complies with your restrictions (ie reception desk work), you are ok. Though, your disability payments may be decreased b/c you are supplementing income. And don't lie to the state about having this 2nd job; they will find out via payroll records the company reports.

What type of work would you be doing part time? If you're receiving short-term disability and get a part time job doing similar work then you may be violating the terms of your short term disability. I'm guessing you're disability pay is less then full time pay and the part time pay would supplement. You probably have disability paperwork that will say what you can and cannot do.
