That hardly makes someone 'retarded'. It actually doesn't bother me that much, maybe some people don't know the language that well, but they're trying. As for spell check, I'm not sure why. If it only takes me a split second to figure out what the word is, it's not a burden/annoyance to me. People always get perturbed and mention people's spelling, what about all the swear words people use and nasty words that have to do with sex. THAT is what is retarded.

2: maybe it's a young person
3: maybe it's someone from a foreign country
4: maybe it's a real word and spell check won't catch the misspelling.

they are in a hurry, or
they believe they spelled the words correctly - or close enough.
