There are mostly dirt tracks here where there are any roads at all, and we have a prairie/desert terrain - cactus, sagebrush, rocks and sand - and lots of hills. We chase cattle and livestock primarily, and want a truck that is good and long lasting in these situations. Naturally, we have to haul a lot of heavy items and equipment, and tow horsetrailers and such. What would you recommend? New or old, doesn't matter.

I am a Dodge man, but, based on frame size, and design, I'd say the Ford F350 wins hands down. The Ford diesel is also the most dependable diesel on the market, too.
