Look at his past record, has he often lied to you and broken his promises? On the other hand, marriage is a special thing and you should do all you can to hold onto it. Too many marriages fall apart nowadays, if he says he wants to try again then I think you should go for it. Don't give up so easily, give him another chance and hope for the best. If it really doesn't work out, then at least you can say you've tried your best and did all you could, the problem is not you anymore.
