I have been a few times before but I will be going back this weekend! In the past I have been to a Sox game and seen all the museums/aquarium and such and this time all I have scheduled is a Cubs game! What else can I do in such a great city? Thanks!

Forget all of that touristy crap like Navy Pier and Millenium Park that everyone is talking about. Try these things that are NOT in the tour guide.

Go to Wicker Park and play Hipster Bingo! Get a seat in the outdoor cafe at the Pontiac Cafe a restaurant/bar (http://centerstage.net/restaurants/pontiac-produce.html). Get a burger and a beer and pull out your "Hipster Bingo" card (http://www.erstwhile.net/junk/hipsterbingo/) that you've printed before you left home. Every time you get a bingo, drink another beer!

Go to the lakefront and relax on the beach at Lawrence. Look at the hot women playing volleyball (if you're into that sort of thing.)

If there's a Cubs game, go stand on Waveland Ave. and try to catch a home run ball with the rest of the ball hawks as it comes over the wall. If you catch one and it's the opponents' ball, try to heave it all the way back into the ball park. You'll get bored with this about the 6th inning, so head down the street to a bar called the Piano Man for a cold one.

Go to the Green Mill Jazz bar on Sunday night at 7 p.m. for the Poetry Slam (http://www.slampapi.com/new_site/mill.htm). Write some bad poetry before you get there and read it on the open mike. If you want to slam, bring about three or four poems with you. If you win you get either $10 or scratch off lottery cards!!! Your choice!

Go fly your freak flag and go to a bar called Weeds (1555 N. Dayton). They have free music on the weekends, an outdoor patio, Poetry on Mondays. It is where the "bad" hippies hang out.

Go walk down Devon ave. and get transformed to India. This is an Indian/Pakistani/Jewish neighborhood that has a lot of great Indian restaurants, shops, bakeries. It's like going to India without having to worry about drinking the water.

Rent a bike along the lakefront and take a great ride. Don't stay in the usually area (downtown. Try far north. You'll see the guys practicing their tricks on the skateboard park, the mexican soccer players battling it out in their recreational leagues, people biking, jogging, flying kites. Cool.

You are already doing a Cubs game so that's a big one - make sure you get out and enjoy the neighborhood too it is one of the most surreal experiences you will ever have attending a baseball game. I mean 45,000,000 people in a little north side pocket? The energy is amazing. I know because I live over there.

Go to the John Hancock Building's 95th floor Signature Room and ask for a table in the bar by the window at night SO pretty!! (Do not order food here unless you have deep pockets)

The Lincoln Park Zoo is fun if you like zoos and free if you take public transportation. The Lincoln Park Zoo is one of the nation's oldest zoo and one of the last free zoos in the country

You need to check out Millennium park. They have several nice things going on there. The Pritzker Pavilion there has great concerts in the summer and it is free. It is an amazing place to walk through even if there is no music playing.

Take a boat ride on the river. http://www.shorelinesightseeing.com/archboattours/rivercruise.htm This one leaves from Navy Pier so you can kill two birds with one stone on this one. Navy Pier also has fireworks on Wed and Saturday nights in the summer so that adds a bit to this idea too.

Well, Six Flags Great America in Gurnee (about an hour north of Chicago) is always lots of fun. If you're on foot, the "Tall Ships of Chicago" is in town this coming weekend-that is absolutely amazing. I'm also partial to the architectural boat tours of Chicago.

Another biggie that's in town right now is the King Tut exhibit. I haven't seen it, but I've read some great reviews on it.

Have fun in our fair city!

You can always go to the Navy Pier, Lincoln park zoo, go shopping on State street down town, Go to the Field, Art, or Science museums, and the Planitarium.

Or you can always go on the many tours to explor the city also. Have Fun!!

Have dinner at Redfish on N. State -- and stay for the live music. A good Cajun place.

Why not check out Navy Pier? It seems like a good time.

Go to Giodano's for dinner
