Excellent question...
I would say 9-11 was the turning point where the difference between Lib and Consv became ever more clear.
The liberal values of Kennedy era became more embraced by Consv... but today's liberals are more radical and actually turned their back against the tradiational liberal values.

As George Will has said,we are more rhetocically conservative, but more liberal in actual practice.
More censorship, but not for anything rabbidly right-wing.
KissMyGodzilla is a prime example of ignorance from someone who only gets their news from right-wing radio.Democrats of today are much less willing to branch out and experiment than they were a few decades ago.Needs to change, though.

america wasn't this conservative in the 1950's.
speech and limitations to what you can say have NEVER been so monitored.
when we are not allowed basic freedoms without a right to privacy, we are no longer living a free lifestyle, but a candy coated version of 1984.

Socially we're much more liberal. Politically I'd have to say we've become slightly more conservative.

I think that there is a bigger split between the two major partys then even is shown here with some of the answers and most of the questions. I think people believe strongly in what they believe in and that is not a bad thing.

because you dont comprehend the version between a conservative and a republican. Which applies to "point 3". "point 5" has no longer something to do with freedom, its anti freedom to tell ppl(that are what run those "entities" talked approximately as companines) which approaches they are able to promote and what/how they are able to sell as long as they do no longer look to be mendacity. If "restirctions would persist with" is encumbant on you to ask what regulations "would persist with". "point 6", there is no longer something incorrect with a union. there's a substantial difficulty with the legislations that components specific protections to union and describes how barganing can happen, how arbitration happens/etc. a team of ppl are better than unfastened to strike and the business corporation would desire to be better than unfastened to hearth all of them or to no longer hire ppl in considered one of those team. that's no longer what the regulation says. "point 7" Freedom does not come from "presents" from the government that are paid for by forcefully taking money from specific communities of ppl. Sorry you're incredibly incorrect. you have the liberty to persue your goals, that's genuine freedom. clarify how controling habit that doesnt straight away harm somebody else is freedom? Freedom comes from the absence of regulations (stress from the government) while movements do no longer straight away harm others (homicide, robbery, etc).
