Are there dumb liberals up north?

Question

I live in the south and it seems to me that all the(self proclaimed) conservatives down here are ignorant, the few intellectuals that I find are usually liberals, is it vice versa up north?
PS I am not a liberal, I'm just wondering why so many conservatives down here are so dumb, and if it is the same up north with liberals being the idiots and the conservatives being the intellectuals?

I believe that liberals & conservatives are separated more
by common sense ( or lack thereof ) than by intelligence or
education...
It seems that the longer one stays within the liberal halls
of our universities, the more likely one is to remain a liberal.
Highly educated yes but liberal and not familiar enough with
the realities of life to have gained much wisdom or common sense.
Conversely, independant minded people having gone through the
school of hard knocks are less educated and more conservative.
Of course these are generalities painted with a broad brush
and do not apply to those groups with agendas or on the public dole...

The "conservatism" in the south is usually faith based and not the William F. Buckley type of intellectual conservatism. By the way, there are more choices in politics than just "conservatism" and "liberalism". Not everyone neatly falls into one of those two labels. You might be such a person. There are dummies everywhere. Perhaps the liberals up north tend to present themselves in a more intelligent manner. As for conservatives in the south they tend to talk down to the people, believing them to be uneducated. They insult my intelligence., thus find it difficult to listen to them, but they do have many good ideas as do the liberals. Politic in the South often is a bit of a circus, it gets attention but often little substance.

You have dumb and smart people on both political sides, though I find the more extreme on either side semm to come off as less intelligent. This is likely less a reflection on their true intelligence and more of a manifestation of intellectual obstinancy.

i think of it is only that greater human beings interior the south make the information that look dumber. we have people who are dumb on subjects in all areas of politices and around the country. To be honest i am looking for people to help me understand some subjects so i sound smarter when i talk to athers.
