Brown hair is more dominant than red hair. My husband has red hair & I have brown hair, my baby was born with red hair she is 10weeks now & it's starting to get darker which is a shame because I'd love her to have red hair!

it all depends on genetics. red hair in a family is usually a dominant trait, meaning that it will over power the 'brunette' part of the DNA gene. it depends on which is dominant and recessive. if the red hair happens to be recessive, then the baby will have brown hair. but if the red hair gene is dominant, then the baby will have red hair. sometimes the baby will have redish brown hair. but there really is no way to tell for sure.

If no one in your familiy (besides yoru man) has red hair it is very unlikely that the gene for red hair is in your genotype. Red hair is a recessive gene, for the baby to have red hair, both parents must pass down a "red hair gene". Since you have brown hair (which is a dominant gene) you are most likely to pass on the gene fro brown hair. The dominant "brown hair gene" will be expressed in the form of brown hair.

it depends on what else runs in his side and your side of the family.....brown hair is a dominate trait and red/blonde hair is a recessive trait.....look at how many of his immediate family members have red/blonde hair compared to brown....and the same with yours....which ever color is most common has a better chance of ending up on your baby...but its still a good possiblity that your baby will get red hair

It's all about the genes. Are most people in his family red heads? If not, then the chances are pretty low you will get a red head, but weirder things have happened!!
In my family, blond hair is dominent, in my husbands, brown hair is. I have one girl who is really blond, one who is brown, so it all just depends. Same for eye color too.

wager who else is conscious ahead of time, aside from some omniscient previous guy in the sky? Genetics. And darkish hair and eyes are dominant over easy hair and lightweight eyes. So, maximum probably your toddler would be darkish. although, in the journey that your husband has a recessive gene for purple hair or blue eyes, the possibilities of your toddler receiving a sort of features is larger. the two way, your toddler will nevertheless in all probability have the genes for lighter color...you may as nicely discover your grandkids are easy.

Gosh, I hope the baby has red hair. Red hair is special and only 2% of the population is naturally redheaded (20% is naturally blond and I am one of those - but I'd rather be redheaded). My hair was reddish when I was born but came in blond later.

It is more likely to have brown hair, since it is the dominant gene. I would be surprised if it had red hair.
