How about 'guy' and 'gal'? 'Dude' and 'chick'? Are you just looking for alternate words or is there a thematic reason for the question? Do you want references from specific time frames, or just general refrences? There is always 'biker' and 'old lady' (which isn't the kind of old lady I am) or Beau and Belle, which is pretty southern, or?

Sex cannot be eliminated from the language of sexual beings. It would be silly. Male and female are essentail to being human. There is no humanity without each.
