I went in for my 33 weeks ultrasound. Baby measured close to 35-36 weeks. He was 5lbs and doc said baby's head is slightly big but, nothing to worry. Did anyone else have such an experience? I asked the doc to check for hydrocephalus and he said its all fine and nothing to worry. I hope baby is doing fine in there.

ultrasound technicians are VERY good at what they do... and if the doc said everything is fine...then 99% chance that there is nothing to worry about

Understand that after the first trimester, ultrasounds aren't as accurate. Especially late in pregnancy. The weight can be off +- 1 lb or more. With my 2nd and 3rd children I was told they would both be small to average based on the ultrasounds. My 2nd weighed 9lbs 1oz and my 3rd weighed 8lbs 6oz (and was 2 weeks early). So it's really only a guess at this point.

Also, if the 5 lb measurement was accurate, babies gain approximately 1/2 lb a week during the last 2 months so that puts your baby at around 8-1/2lbs if carried full term. That's not huge, but it is a little bigger than average.

Best of luck!

With a later ultrasound i became into instructed my infant became into going to 10.5lbs. He became into born 5 days early as a results of dr's situation with regard to the infant's length and he became into 8lbs 1oz. That became into with my 4th new child. back, they're telling me the infant i'm anticipating is going to be atleast 9lbs...i will have self belief it when I see it. Ultrasounds later in being pregnant can not accurately confirm your infant's weight distinctive the time. the main precise ultrasounds are those you get between 6-8 weeks. in basic terms particular issues take place at particular cases early on your being pregnant and due to this they are in a position to confirm once you conceived that early on. I had an ultrasound at 6w 5d and became into instructed my due date is 4/26 (consistent with my calendar i'd be due 4/27), in accordance to my ultrasound at 29.5 weeks, the infant became into measuring 32.2 weeks. i'm no longer asserting you're unlikely to have a large infant, yet undergo in ideas which you will no longer and don't placed too a lot inventory in later ultrasounds. I actual have one on Thursday to work out if my son has long previous head down yet...I had to have my final one became in view that he became into transverse breech as this infant became right into some weeks in the past. choose me success! great information your infant is head down! perfect desires!

if the dr told you not to worry then you shouldn't. i understand that you are concerned about it, but it doesn't sound like a big deal to me. All babies are different and yours has a SLIGHTLY big head, so what!
Good luck with your precious one
