The "life span" is 3 - 14 days. So sperm can "live" inside you for up to 14 days. The first day of your period is the first day of your cycle, so you can theorectically get pregnant on the last day of your period should the sperm live long enough ((Generally women begin to ovulate on the 14th, 15th or 16th day of the cycle)).

Everyone's cycle is different. There is a myth that woman ovulate 14 days after their period begins...but that is only an AVERAGE and each month can be different. The other thing is that sperm can live inside you for up to 5 days.... so if you are having a shortened cycle one month and you have sex right after your period and you ovulate earlier than day 14 than yes, there is a chance of getting pregnant. They only way to know is to know exactly when you ovulate. There are several ways to know and some are more effective than others. Some can only predict before ovulation happens and some can only predict that is has already happened. The absolute best info I can give you is to go read a book called Taking Charge of your fertility by Toni Weschler. It will help you understand your body and all the myths about it. It will help you time when you are ovulating and the best times to conceive – or not! . It's about knowing your body and knowing when you are fertile or not. You can pick and choose what you do with your info. Good luck and don't listen the all the myths! Even if you don't get into charting and everything....it will help you in so many ways!

Some women ovulate early, so its possible. Generally though it isn't likely. POSSIBLE, but not THAT possible. Sperm could live through the bleeding and wait around for the egg, but the womans "area" is a very hostile one, which usually kills off the sperm before it gets the chance to swim up stream.

It's generally a good idea to just be safe and practice birthcontrol. Suprise pregnancies are not fun.

Some peoples birthcontrol IS the method of avoiding their time of ovulation. But that means they can only "safely" have sex for like, a week out of the month, whats the fun in that??

Its not very likely that you are going to be pregnant. In about a week and a half you'll be ovulating and the sperm thats in you now will be long dead. Sperm can last anywhere from 3to7days. So if your looking to get pregnant you might wanna wait until that ovulation time and dont have sex with your man, so this way when yall do have sex his lil swimmers will be strong and able to fertilize your egg. Hope this helps!

It all depends on how long your cycles are and when you ovulate. In the average woman, a cycle is about twenty-eight days long, and ovulation usually occurs on/about fourteen days before the first day of your NEXT period (although this can/does vary from woman to woman); So if you had a typical 28 day cycle, you would ovulate on/around day 14. Sperm can survive anywhere from two days to about five days (this is in optimal conditions); theoretically, if you had optimal cervical conditions, and you had a typical cycle and ovulated a little early, there is a small chance you could get pregnant...but don't worry about it too much.

It depends on the length of your cycle if you will get pregnant or not ... the first day of your period is day 1 ... and most women ovulate on day 12 to 16... and the male sperm can live up to 72 hours. so i would say your pretty safe unless your cycle is under 26 days meaning you would ovulate a lot sooner then the 12 to 16 day norm.

You can get pregnant anytime. Sperm lasts about 24 to 72 hours, but you still get the possibility of pregnancy anytime you have sex without protection.

Example.
July 1 you start your period
July 6 you end your period
July 12-15 possibility ovulation begins.

Sperm can live for about 48 hours. I doubt you have anything to worry about if you're worried about pregnancy.

I would say it is possible. Different people ovulate at different times. Yes you can get preggers... They can survive for 7 days but start to lose mobility at that point.

Go to your doctor! I don't know if you are trying to get pregnant or whatever. If you are.. Hey whats it gonna hurt? If not... then get to a doctor.

The best way to see if you are ovulating or at what point you are... Get one of those home test ovulation kits at your local drug dept. or drug store. No more guessing.. :)
