Well, maybe because the only reason Israel exists is because Europe...and the US...didnt' want to deal with the displaced Jews that were all over Europe after the Holocaust. The Israelis have what they want...their own state. Now that they've got their own state and their own government, why don't we let them run it themselves? The US gave them nukes and planes to protect them because all of the Arab countries don't like them...many nations lost land area when the state of Israel was formed. Understandably, some of those nations are PISSED. I know if i was a Palestinian or a Jordanian, or a Lebanese, I would be pissed. None of those nations were involved in the mass killing of Jews under Hitler. Why should they be punished by losing their land? Sorry, but I'm pro arab in this case. Europe and the US should have embraced the jews with open arms. Sorry, but they were living in Europe before the rise of the Third Reich. Why couldn't they remain there afterwards? This was just the industrial nations of the world's biggest mistake in the past fifty years...and we'll be reaping the benefits probably after everyone who reads this dies. The state of Israel should never have been formed...much less supported by the United States. Because of this decision, arab countries continue to become more and more anti-American, terrorist cells opposed to US-Israel relations continue to terrorize Israeli and American people, the world's opinion of the US's support of Israel is becoming worse and worse, and worst of all, we're kind of stuck now. We really ought to let Israel alone, let them fight their own battles. Sure enough, the state would fall, but terrorism would cease to be a major threat for Americans here and abroad. Seriously, this is a problem we created for ourselves. Let's solve it by leaving Israel be. Problem solved! Ten points! Cha ching!

It's not really about being pro or con. But, if you understand the history of the region, and you keep a neutral stance in regard to religion, it's hard not to also see the Arab viewpoint. Israel may have the support of powerful countries, who want a foothold in the Middle East, but that's not the same thing as being right. In truth, neither side holds the moral high ground.

Personally, I think the groups who continue to fight Israel as occupiers can't win, but Israel refuses to recognize Palestine's elected government and periodically invades their neighbors, so it's hard to say they're wrong to do so. And I think it's wrong for both sides to continue fighting one another, sabotaging their children's future, and their children's children's future. But, people in that region think in terms of centuries, not in terms of "instant gratification" as Americans do. They've been fighting wars over the land for a very, very long time. Continued resistance to occupation has paid off in the past, and many believe it may do so again.

If you stop thinking in the short term, and look at the Middle East in terms of centuries, the ability to pick a right or wrong side essentially disappears. It has always come down to the victor taking the spoils by virtue of strength in the back and forth of the region's history. It's no different now.

Where I have a problem is in my government's picking, then enabling one side, and the deliberate labelling of people who oppose them as "terrorists" to further an American agenda in the Middle East.

We've enabled Israel to a high degree, they have a large nuclear stockpile, and periodically pursue wars of acquisition, with us as their big strong friend. I have just as much problem with Israel doing such things as I have with my own country, or any other.

Again, it's not a case of being "pro-Arab" or "anti-Israel." Neither side has any real justification they can offer for what they're doing. The only thing that's very clear is that the violence between Israelis and Arabs continues, and the biggest losers are the civilians on both sides who are unfortunate enough to be in the way.

seriously u people have been poisoned by american media , if you can spare one minute and watch the arabic media you will see who is the real terrorist which is israel.i watch european (euronews), american (world news tonight), british (BBC)and arabic(al jazeera) media. the whole world is with palestine and lebanese exept america and canada. american and canadian media are owned by jews so u cannot expect the truth from their news.israel is targetting lebanese civilians exclusively so that the lebanese citizens will get angry and make a civil war against hezbollah which is not part of the lebanese gov. and isnt controlled by it. but the lebanese our strong and smart and will not satisfy israels wishes. the whole world sees the truth that the palestinians and lebanese our innocent people and israeli gov are savages who refused to negotiate anything. western media only shows the suffering of the israelis which is nothing compared to the lebanese and palestinian civilians and children. you have not seen the horrible images ive seen of arab children being pulled out of the rubble or their limbs blown off,or a dead 2 month old baby with its father balling over it , and the 12 year old girl thats crying over her dead father lying next to her on the beach. you people are completely blind and brainwashed. bush says that israel has the right to defend itself but arabs too have the right to defend themselves.bush would gladly fight the palestinian and lebanese himself if he wasnt busy with messing up iraq also because the iraq war is consuming too much money.bush believes all arabs and muslims are terrorists especially after 9/11. he also sides with the israelis because their closer blood relatives than arabs. hes a bastard racist. this all started in gaza if israelis really cared about its soldiers it would have negotiated ,but it didnt give a **** and used the kidnapped soldier as an excuse and a justification to attack and assault innocent arab civilians that have the right to live peacefully in their own land with out any ******* zionist occupation!!!!

Or brainwashed! yesterday I was accused of being brainwashed, because I was defending the only people who are able to defend my poor destroyed country Lebanon. You are not brainwashed if you believe CNN and other american news, but brainwashed if you raise your voice against a fascist regime, committing the worst crimes of this time.
How can I not defend Hizbullah? I am a christian by the way. I was against Hizbullah, but after I saw the crimes, I say I was a fool I believed Israel wanted piece with its neighbors. Hizbullah right now, is representing every lebanese. You can't convince the coming generation anymore that Israel wants peace. Neither You can convice them that CNN is honest because they lives the crimes. God be with every lebanese.

Because when the war happen the people get to the sides, you can see now if someone said anything against Bush (with reason or not) they call him anti patriotic and after this label anything you said no matter go against the country. It´s important the respect to the ideas because it´s the most essential freedom, it´s the freedom to think.
Remember Bush is a man not the nation, sooner or later he´s gone and the nation still, and our love and loyalty don´t have to go to a man, is for our nation.

Some people just don't like fighting.

Some feel we are sticking our noses where they don't belong.

Some people are Islamic.

There are a number of reasons to pick sides, some pick that side.

Obviously you do not.

Don't call them morons unless you want them to call you the same or worse.

And voicing your opinion is not an act of terrorism unless they use loud speakers and imprison you so you have to listen to them.

Stop talking in extremes. It leads to hostility and empass.

Peace.

I'm not pro, nor against any party over there in the mid east. There were wrongs committed on both side.

remember: it takes two to tango. THey are both wrong. but there will never be peace until the horrors of war become too much for them. only then can they both want peace.
