It appears to me that the probability of a global depression beginning within a year is high. I have a high school education and would like to rapidly expand my earning power/earning security and resources in preparation for that. I'm interested in some training that would be in stable high demand through such circumstances.

Invest in gold, not the stock market. Some people are advising to invest in the Iraqi dinar, but I'm not too sure. Remember, if the world economy collapses, chances are the dollar will be the first to go, what with the outrageous debt and all, so invest in something with a little more staying power.

That's why gold is always a good choice. Jewels will be good too. Look for jobs that are a neccesity, as well. Learn how to minimize your expenses as much as you can, and live small. Also, start doing favors now. Lots of them. Be nice to everyone you know and do as much as you can for them now while you can still afford it. Don't neccesarily trust them, because anyone will sell their neighbor if the price is enough, but get on there good side and get them in the mindset that they owe you.

Financial power is unstable in the face of depression, social power is everything.

Simplicity my friend,,,that is the only thing that is gonna get you threw .... discipline your self now,,,so that the shock and the blow of ''global depression'' will not affect you.... Did you know that when the world was in the depression in the 1930's,,,,, some people were already so poor that they couldnt tell a difference ,,,,and they already knew how to take care of them selves...However,,,the rich people and the middle class people fell and hit the floor hard!!!!!!!! Loosing business's,homes, cars, familys ,all of there possessions and all so that they could eat and or remain under a roof.....
So I will say this,,,the more you have,,,the more you loose,,,,the less you have,,,the less worry you have ....So my advice to you is to down grade,,,,keep it simple,,,bare necessity's....

start by getting the book: What to say when you talk to yourself.

You have a very grim outlook! A more positive approach would help you in life immensly. This book is under 10 bucks and changed my life. I weathered a brain tumor with a positive attitude and fought it off. I am better than new now!
