When I go pick up my sister from high school, I am amazed at the simularity between all of the students. No one reallly, with a few exceptions seems to have thier own sense of style. Everyone wears the same brands, the same jeans, the same jewlery etc and in my opinion no one really looked fashionable at all. For ask much as some teen girls seem to care about fashion, no one really looked fashionable or chic at all. Just because you have your own style does not mean you are weird, you could have your own style and look very chic. Any thoughts?

When I was in high school, I never blended in, probably because I dressed up more to go to school, I wore a lot of skirts, slacks, heels, flirty tops, carried a designer handbag, wore classic makeup, wore pearls, and I stood out in a good way, a lot of people looked up to me for my style, and some of the guys thought I was a hot substitute teacher ;)

They are probably still developing and finding out who they are. I thought the same thing when I was in high school. Some people take longer to define who they are mentally, fashionably and otherwise.

Why dress up to go to highschool? Originality takes money, time, effort, and self-esteem. Very few highschoolers, very few people, have all of these. I rarely see anyone who makes an effort to look like they stepped out of a fashion magazine, and its rather ridiculous when people try so hard that they end up looking idiotic.

Don't you remember when you were a teen? You wanted to fit in. Teen years are important for finding out who you really are. You might copy of others because you like their style or maybe you're just not confident enough in yourself so you just want to fit in with everyone else.
