i can only listen to cd's....where are my other sounds???

You may have inadvertently changed the sound scheme. Try checking Control Panel>Sounds, Speech & Audio Devices>Sound Schemes.

What are you running? Windows XP Home? If so, go to Control Panel->Sounds and Audio Devices and let me know if there are any red X marks.

Give me your computer specifications. Make sure all the wires are hooked up correctly.
Do a sound test in the sound program.
