if u have to pee in a cup AT THE DOCTORS OFFICE, like just for a check up or whatever, will they be able to see any traces of alcohol in your system if u were drinking the night before? and could they tell you were smoking weed 2 days before? also, could they in anyway tell about these two things during the course of a check-up?

They can tell if they're looking for it. I'm sure that the stick they dip in doesn't have a spot for drugs and alcohol, but I'm not 100% sure. If I had to say something though, I'd say no.

Don't worry they are not checking for those things when they run the test on your urine. They don't have an alcohol or weed "alarm" that goes off. They have to specifically test for those substances. If they were looking for those things, then yes they would show in your system. Be sure to drink lots of water to flush your system, cranberry juice is also good. When you drink and smoke you use up valuable nutrients and can easily become dehydrated. Be more concerned with your overall health than being "found out". My advice to you is unless this physical is for a job or something, I would be upfront about your habits with the doctor.. doctors have to abide by dr-patient confidentiality and are suppose to be non-judgemental. If you do not feel you can confide in your doctor then find another you feel you can trust. It is important you are truthful about what you do.... they are not going to turn you in... he may encourage you to stop or slow down but he needs this information to fully treat you...There could be meds he would prescribe that could have an adverse effect with marijuana or alcohol...You have to take your healthy seriously.... besides if you told him the truth, whats the worst that could happen? You are of age I take it and this is still America where we have freedom of choice.

They can if they want cause these things leave traces... but not likely they will try to search for it...
They are more likely to check for your blood sugar level.. whether you are pregnant and stuff like that ;)

A specimen of urine can tell a lot of things. What medications you have taken, if you've smoked marijuana, and if you have been drinking.
