Yes, an egg will cook on the hot pavement. We do it every year here in Vegas just for the kids (no, we don't eat it!). Eggs cook much faster on the asphalt, though it didn't seem to take too long on the sidewalk in front of our house (about 5 minutes).
Just a warning -- if you do decide to do this, it can be a real mess to clean up! Have a putty knife handy

Probably, although I wouldn't recommend it, and it'd take far longer than doing it in a pan.
And by far longer, I mean upwards of 15 minutes.

not really, it does turn white somewhat. but you could place a black cast iron skillet in sun, it absorbs the heat well, and a little oil, it does better, but i'd never eat it, mine have to be well done.

Why don't you try it for yourself, it can be done but I would not recommend eating it afterwards. Its best on a smooth rock.
