I have a few that I am juggling, enjoying them all:
Wizard and Glass from the Dark Tower series - Stephen King
The Life and Times of Davy Crockett - told mostly by himself - Davy Crockett
When the Legends Die - Hal Borland (for class)
Animal Farm - George Orwell (for class)
Oxymoronica - Paradoxical Wit & Wisdom

Winterdance by Gary Paulsen. The story of how he got interested, then hooked on running the Ididerod. It's written very well and his observations of things are almost poetic. He's a well known writer for young people, but this is a book for we grown-ups.
