I just bought a brand-new baby ferret from the pet store a few weeks ago- he was only 7 weeks old at the time. I brought him home and introduced him to th three other ferrets I have, and they seemed to get along. Now the baby is starting a lot of fights (which I attributed to baby play) but he also gets mean to the other ferrets like he won't share the food when he's eating and doesn't like sharing the beds. Should I do something to try and alter this behavior, or is it just a baby being a baby?

Unless the ferrets start fighting so hard that one of them starts bleeding, is not allowed to eat or hides all the time in fear, do not interfere. These guys have to establish rank and unless you let them do that there will never be peace. BTW, their skin is some of the toughest around, so what looks like it should hurt really doesn't.
Ferrets are very intense little critters. They play harder, sleep deeper and fight rougher than any pet I've ever had. That's just what they do. I have three that are 3 1/2, 3 and 1 1/2 yrs old and then I introduced another adoptive one at 3 1/2 months. He was acting just like yours, a juvenile delinquent. He grabbed the older ones by the skin of the neck, even dragged them across the floor, pounced on them when they were eating or sleeping and it looked like he just wasn't going to be a good match. The others indulged him and fought back sometimes, putting him in his place once in a while and "saying Uncle" at others, to let him win.
They are all getting along swimmingly now.
He was also the only biter I ever had. I worked with him for several weeks and with a lot of positive re-enforcement and patience we took care of that problem as well.
So don't worry and let them hash it out.
There will be "bottle brush" tails for a while, but as long as the others keep coming back for more they are not holding a grudge.
Good luck to you.
