Although I am not bankrupt, I would think all you need to do is go open a new account at a bank.

You can still open a new basic bank account if your are bankrupt, but you are not allowed to get any loans or overdrafts on the new account as taking out loans , etc when you are already bankrupt is classed as fraud.

Hi
I have a friend who went bankrupt back in March.
Contact The Co Operative Bank, ask to open a CASHMINDER account.
You can have wages etc paid in you can pay in cash and chqs at the post office.
You get a ELECTRON VISA CARD, for cash withdrawal and paying in shops. You can get cash out at the post office counter so if you don't have at least £10 in you can get out what you do have.
I hope that helps, I've just opened one myself and it's very easy and simple to do.
ALSO you can have internet access to the account as well.

Non-status accounts are available from Abbey National, Barclays, and Nationwide among others.
These are cash card only accounts (no overdraft, VISA or Switch) and enable you to operate direct debits etc.
You must declare that you are bankrupt to the bank and declare the new account to the adminstrator of your bankruptcy.

I work for Barclays therefore know that if u go into a branch, u can open what we call a cash card account. it allos for wages to be paid into, and can have standing orders and direct debits paid out. u get given a cash card which u can only use in a cash point and not in shops. at the moment u cannot have access to cash card accounts on internet banking

Most banks offer basic bank accounts that you can be elligble for, even if you have been declared bankrupt. I would make an appointment with your local branch and see what they can offer you. Good luck.

Abbey National have an account which you can open --- sorry, cant think what it's called.
I think you get a paying in book and are able to withdraw via debit card (not credit card). You can use this for wages, s.orders etc
Good Luck

First thing you need to do if you haven't already is get a job, trying to get a bank cheque account without one would be fruitless. also speaking to citizens advice would probably put you on the right track. hope you get yourself sorted.
