Some people think the nausea is from hormones others that it's a way for avoiding unhealthy foods. The signs are that it has to do with avoiding certain food, because the women who get nauseaus tend to do so as soon as they smell certain foods. With my first born, I never had nausea. With my second, I always did, right into my third term.
I went to an eastern medical practitioner to ask what I could do ex. drink ginger tea and was told to put a peppermint sachet under my pillow, but not to drink it. I'm guessing if you stick to a bland hospital style diet, ie boiled, steamed and unseasoned food you'll never get nausea, but can you do it and do you want to?
I ate everything.
Good Luck.

YES OH YES, anything with strong odors such as seafood and anything spicy, and the smell of cooking meat. For every pregnancy there are different things that may make you sick but not the preggie woman sitting next to you. It will be a trial and error basis for you to know what you can can't eat. Also be forewarned that just because you can eat something one day, does not mean that it won't make you sick the next!! I found out in my third pregnancy what i thought was morning sickness was actually and overabundance of stomach acid. For the first three months i was SOOO sick and was even taking a prescription nausea medicine. As soon as we realized it was stomach acid, and i started taking an acid reducer, i felt worlds better. So keep that in mind.

Every pregnancy is different. Different foods cause different reactions in women. I had alot of problems with morning sickness. I could barely keep anything at all down. But the things that were the worst were probably greasy foods, the smell of garlic, anything spicy, and sprite. That was definitely not a fun time in my life. But good luck with your pregnancy and congratulations!!

Each pregnancy is different, and I'm afraid, by trial and error.
My first pregnancy I couldn't eat anything spicey or tomato based. My daughter to this day will not eat tomatoes.
My next baby, I could eat almost anything, but not the richer spices.
With my son, I could have eaten a jack hammer and he wouldn't have cared.
All that being said, bread may help soak up the acids in your stomach that may want to make you puke, so keep plenty of that around.
Hope you're feeling okay, and congratulations!

It's different for everyone. One thing to keep in mind if you are sicker than you expect and can't pinpoint the problem, is that you might be developing a food allergy or sensitivity that you never had before. I could eat milk products in the first part of my pregnancy but not later. Now that I'm pregnant again I can't even touch a bit of food that has any dairy in it without paying the price. I also think that I have started to develop a sensitivity to nuts lately...I eat them I feel yucky, I don't eat them I feel ok. So, no more nuts for me for now. :-(

Well it depends on the person/pregnancy since they are all different but with me I didn't like the smell of breakfast cooking and couldn't eat before noon without vomiting. I had problems with greasy fried foods and some beans gave me gas. I always wanted to eat at night between 8-10pm.

Mcdonalds was always a nauseating smell for me although I craved it. Coffee, Taco Bell, Burger King, Ya know all the things you loved before you got pregnant. But there is also one other thing that always made the nausea worse, and that was being around anyone smaoking cigarettes...YUCK!!!!!! The only thing I could keep down was unsweetened tea for some reason, but got violently ill & dehydrated. Always try to stay hydrated. Good luck hun!!!!!!

Every pregnancy is different...try things in small amounts to see how you feel especially fatty/spicey foods. I was nauseated and vomiting for the first 4 months of each pregnancy so I ate alot of saltine crackers, and then once I would be able to keep things down I would eat smaller amounts more frequently.

Avoid any fish caught from local rivers and lakes (mercury levels in the fish). Otherwise, you'll just have to wait and see what triggers your nausea. Believe me, YOU'LL KNOW! For me it was garlic, pork chops, Mt. Dew, spaghetti, crackers. Drove me crazy! LOL The best thing you can do is eat frequent small meals so that your stomach is never empty nor overly full. Good luck! And if you're still worried, talk to your doctor.

I think we are all different so it is hard to say what might increase
nausea for you. My Dr. told me to lay off tomatoes and sauces . I also had a problem with eggs. If this is your first pregnancy you may just have to try & eliminate the ones that bother you. Just eat small amounts of the spicy, hot etc until you see which ones
cause you a problem. Good luck!
