Bleeding during pregnancy is not normal, but it doesn't always mean that something is wrong either.
If you start having heavy bleeding or cramping, go get medical attention quickly.

If the doctor says there is nothing wrong, then it's probably true. Be sure to tell your doctor that you've started bleeding and about any pains (whether they're cramps or contractions) and be sure you're going to a good and through doctor who will do blood work on you and at least an ultrasound to be sure that the baby really is fine. Most mis-carriages occur during the first trimester, which you are just past, but that's most, not ALL. Your baby is not 100% safe. Do what you can to be healthy and get plenty of rest, drink lots of fluids, eat well, take a prenatal vitamin, and all those other things that people (especially your Dr.) have been telling you all along.
Some women will bleed a little (or alot) during their pregnancy, though it can be a sign of miscarriage, it doesn't have to be. If anything changes, bleeding gets heavier, pain gets worse, be sure to tell your doctor.
Try not to stress (not easy, I know), because it could make a good situation bad or a bad situation worse.
Good luck, and congratulations on the pregnancy, I'm guessing you're due around the late-middle of January?

It depends on how heavy you are bleeding. Some people continue to have periods while they are pregnant. Some heavy bleeding is caused by broken blood vessel in the vaginal wall. This kind normally goes away with bed rest. or like me you are on bed rest for 4 months, can't do anything and your sex privelages get taken away! If you are that worried you always have the right to get a 2nd opinion!

If the doctor isn't concerned with it, don't worry everything will be fine....
When I was pregnant with my first child, I had my period for 3 months... My doctor just kept a closer eye on me and the baby...
Good luck....

There is sometimes unexplained bleeding during pregnancy. My sister is pregnant with twins and the amniotic sac was pulling away from the uterine wall. She has had problems with bleeding, but the Gyno told her that it really isn't that uncommon. As long as it isn't heavy and bright red, you don't have anything to worry about.

Call your OB/GYN NOW!
Even if its lightly bleeding, you should be better safe than sorry. You never know. If you are having pains, etc. Your body is telling you that something isnt right.
Even if your OB/GYN, regular doctor, etc tell you its fine, seek a 2nd opinion.

If it is a light spotting and the Dr is aware and unconcerned it should be fine. But if it's heavy bleeding or doesn't stop, definitely go to a different Dr.

Well, if the doctor says nothing is wrong, they're probably right. They'd know better than anyone here.
