Lots to consider:

Benefits package (deductibles on medical, dental?, etc)
Danger of the chemicals produced in the plant
Length of commute
family issues--flexibility if needed for family care
promotion potential
paid holidays

Will they pay any of your tuition?
Are you studying anything chemical related (could this turn in to a full time job later)?
Is it union, and would you have to join??

which job do you prefer (atmosphere, co-workers)?

Good luck!!

$10 job unless you are going into chemical or petroleum engineering a related field so at least you'll have some experience that way.

Based on your additional comments, take the higher pay, no doubt. $10 is better than working in a chemical plant for lower pay, especially at 17.

Good luck.

2) What's the benefits package like?

3) What would you be doing there at Shell?
