absolutely...you can have a strong emotional, or even intellectual bond without having sex...
"Romantic love is a form of love that is often regarded as different from mere needs driven by sexual desire, or lust. Romantic love generally involves a mix of emotional and sexual desire, as opposed to Platonic love. There is often, initially, more emphasis on the emotions than on physical pleasure."

In my opinion, yes you can have a romantic relationship w/o having sex. My late husband and I went 3 years without having sex, and we had a very romantic home life and non sexual intimacy. You can touch, kiss, and feel each others body. It's all about how you feel about the person. NOT SEX ... sex is physical not emotional. I'd much rather the sweet emotions, than a quickie sex act or what ever.

Sure you can. All romantic relationships start out that way - getting to know each other romantically before having sex.

Well, Yes; initially.
Initially, everything can be very exciting - even just getting to know one another, and we really look forward to seeing one another, and just being together.
This is true Romance.

But as our love grows deeper, we begin to decide we just can't be without one another, and that we'd love to live together forever!
This is also romantic - but at a different level.

It's at that point that we need to decide whether we'll make a lifetime commitment.
It is at that point that we are given the opportunity of marriage to witness to all [and to each other] that we want to commit one to another - for good.

When we have made such deep commitment, the romance is still in the relationship, but it goes deep, to the point of wanting to bare all and share all together - everything about one another!
We want to literally become one.
This is also Romantic in its own essence ... but it has also become something much deeper as well.

I hope this is able to answer your question for you.

Yes, sex is not the only thing that makes a relationship a relationship. Cause it has the word Relation in it doesn't mean you have to have them.

yeah... sure.... romantic it would be. However, there is a greater possibility for the weak ones to seek sex outside the romantic relationship.

According to today's standards, NO.
My personal view is that a courtship should not include sex until you are married to the person, but thats just me...I went out with my now wife of 20 years for 2 years without engaging in intimacy. It was worth the wait.

IMO, sex is just one component of a good relationship. the other components are:
love, affection & romance, tenderness, playfulness, caring, loyalty, respect, honesty, humor, joyful caring, happiness, friendliness, acceptance, empathy, and lots more things besides and beyond sex.
there should be a romantinc relationship before, during and after SEX!
what do you do beyond sex? are you still in love after sex? is there still love, respect and joyous togetherness after sex or is it just too dull and boring being together after sex? lots of folks have only SEX as a connection with each other with no idea how to connect after the main event!

Most definitely!!!!!!

It is very easy for people to give up their bodies in a relationship, but it takes a very deep person to make love to a person without touching someone's body.
