have u seen that the burning part of cigratte is always in V or CONE shape, why???????????

coz when the smoker pulls air thru the filter, the air in the center goes in faster than at the sides. With faster air, there is more combustion. This effect lasts when you take it out and look at it

Because the edge get exposed to more oxygen, so burn a bit faster until they clear out the side of the center. This results in a somewhat conical shape that is then burning at the same rate from front to back, and remains stable thereafter.

A piece of wood would also burn conically, for the same reason (imagine a wooden torch)
