I'm looking to move down there and I wanted to know what are the best areas or counties to find a job and what are the absolute abandoned places to live. I'm moving from Washington D.C. and I'm a city girl and can't move to far from the city. And of course I need a job!! It will be my first home :-) My husband and I are looking foward to moving... but we need more info first, because all of the realtors say that all the areas are great!!! And I know that can't be true. Thanks to any and all info!!

for jobs i would try wilmington , ralleigh or Charlotte I used to live in Holden Beach not many jobs in the town but wilmington is close and the beach is nice the people are kind of weird but nobodies perfect

Check out Gastonia, Charlotte and surrounding areas; that may be just what you are looking for. I prefer the western part of the state as opposed to the eastern part, and I think you would too.
However, if you go anywhere in the east, Wilmington is the place to be.

Charlotte has a lot of company's to work for and the area is really growing but you may not want to live in Charlotte, try Statesville or Huntersville

I don't live there but CHARLOTTE is a huge city with A LOT of suburbs that are very nice. You might check around that area. It depends too on what kind of employment y'all are qualified to do.

i love the wilmington hamstead area. they're awesome places, and are starting to really boom. get in there while you still can. property values are on the rise, and so is the population.
