Does anyone know what it takes to be a pharmaceutical rep?

I have submitted many resumes and cover letters and have had one telephone interview but still no job. I have the educational backgound needed and possibly more than I need for the job but no real sales experience. How can i break into the business?

Most pharmaceutical reps are either licensed pharmasists or certified pharmacy technicians who also have sales and/or marketing experience.

If you are neither licenced nor certified, you may consider training to become a CPhT:

and taking a few courses in sales and/or marketing.

This combination would put you in a good position for the job.
