Actually, even though the italians won and all. Once in Rome, when the President condecorated the team, nobody aplauded Cristian Zaccardo when his name was called. It was sad. :(
It was just a mistake. The only bad thing is that that goal kept Buffon from stablishing a new World Cup record (regarding the time his net was mantained ungoaled) and well... it was the only goal the italians received during play-time.

The americans were grateful though... at least the left with one in favor.
