Try booting up in safe mode. You can't delete a file that is in active use. Boot up in safe mode (F8), then run pestpatrol, and see if that takes care of it.

I asume you have the name of that trojan.

Go to the norton site and find if there is any search button or a page where you can download a Removal program.

If you cannot find it there, go to google (or yahoo search if you prefer) and type: + Removal tool

If you cannot find anything there, go back and find out what name Symantec uses of this virus and go to symantec.com.
There go to the search function and give in the symantec name of that virus (you can also try to give the Norton name, because it sums up for every virus what other name the other programms use...

If there is a Removal tool, you can download it and use it.
If not, there will be an explenation how to get rid of it.

I hope one of these options will help you.

Check for spyware. Run Skybot Seek&Destroy (http://www.safer-networking.org/) in Safe Mode to remove any spyware. Then go to microsoft.com and download Defender to protect against future infections.

pest patrol and norton aren't that great for fixing trojans. you may need to run windows in safe mode and do a scan. you could also try kapersky (my personal favourite).
