Ricky Ponting, the World Cup-winning Australian one-day captain and Test player, will be the brand ambassador for the website CricketNext.com till the end of World Cup 2007 in the West Indies.
"Our cricket portal has now become the global favorite, having graduated from a predominantly Asian and non-resident Indian traffic towards world-wide visitors from over 125 countries. Ponting was an effortless choice for us as a brand ambassador — a dynamic, dashing and daring player. We believe both Ponting and CricketNext are a manifestation of one unique brand property — a winner's spirit."
CricketNext will be shooting a television commercial with Ponting, besides creating a dedicated micro site on the Australian one-day international skipper. Ponting will also be writing regular columns on CricketNext as well as doing exclusive interviews. CricketNext will be structuring exciting novel events to market the brand ambassador relationship, including a coaching and lecture series.
Says Ponting: "CricketNext was the official Internet partner for the World Cup in South Africa, and I believe that it is a testimony of their outstanding performance. I was associated with CricketNext for coaching in India earlier in year 2000, and am looking forward to endorsing the most interactive, youthful and exciting cricket website in the world."

You can go on about Ricky Ponting being the most agressive captain but I think you'd have to agree Graeme Smith also leads by example.
Ricky is a cool level headed calculating captain where Graeme is a bit of a hot head.
Undeniably Aussie is an amazing team and I think they would be even with me as their captain. (I suck by the way) I think when you have less to work with like Graeme Smith or Inzemam Ul Haq or any of the minnow sides do and still win (like SA setting a world record against and beating Aussie in a 5 game series), then that shows more agression. I give you the wolrd cup 2003. Yes Aussie won it but Kenya made the semi-final through some really agressive captaincy decisions.
Just a thought, leave it with you, use it, don't use it.....

Sir Garfiled Sobers is considered to be the most aggresive captain previously it was English captain Douglas Jardine, who was also well known for introducing body-line bowling in cricket.
In recent years Marvan Attapattu, Stephen Fleming, Sourabh Ganguly or Ricky Ponting are aggresive, but they might be a foot or a meter behind the legendary West-Indian.
Sobers once praised the aggressiveness of Kapil Dev's captainship.

Saurav Ganguly, the Prince of Calcutta has a fan following of millions and that is justified considering the number of winning knocks he has played for India. His batting is the perfect blend of elegance and power. He has all the traditional style that goes with left handed batsmanship. He is also a superb/ perfect timer of the ball. The manner in which he steps out and pounces on the ball, like a tiger on a hapless prey, is something to be enjoyed on the spot. He is one of the most aggressive Captain India has ever had and has emerged as one of the key components of the Indian team.

Despite being unsure of him self on a few occaisions during the 2005 Ashes, I will still nominate Ricky Ponting, he has inheireted a team moulded by Steve Waugh into a ruthless killing machine. Although many of the players from that era are continuing to disappear, there is still enough of a core, to know when to ruthlessly tighten the screws. I really can't see any other international test team which can claim to be fearfully unbeatable more than 95% of the time, home and away....

Cool captain can frequently keep the nerves whilst video games come near.... But whilst you're getting destroyed, its the competitive captains that deliver you again into the sport. Personally i believe a bowler will have to be a captain for he's a lot more competitive. Specially in scan, you have got to be a competitive. If you're protecting minded in scan.... I am talking from the fielding viewpoint... you're going to by no means win. EDIT: @ COOKIE MONSTER: WE ARE TALKING ABOUT THE SAME SEHWAG WHO KICKED THE BALL ONTO THE BOUNDRY SO THE BATSMAN COMING CLOSE TO A CENTURY COULDNT COME BACK TO FACE THE FIRST BALL OF NEXT OVER???

It is definitely Graeme Smith, Captain of South Africa but his aggressive style of captaincy gets the team results. Without him South Africa have just been thrashed by Sri Lanka who were not favouties at the start of the series despite having the home advantage.

The most aggressive captain would be Steve Waugh of Australia.
However - undoubtedly it would be Clive Lloyd of west Indies the world has ever seen till date.
