Think back 1960 and 1980 and 1990 to today and decide who is the greatest rock band of all time. I know the answer to this question, because I asked it, but I would like to know what you all think!
Is is the experimental sound of early Gensis with Peter Gabriel at the helms?
Is it the guitar mastery of Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, George Thorogood, Edgar Winters or Carlos Santana?
Is it the hard rock of Black Sabbath or Led Zeppelin?
Is it the phsychedelic rock of earlier Pink Floyd and Emerson Lake and Palmer?
Or is it the modern rock of Smahing Pumpkins, Green Day or Coheed & Cambria?
Or is it the one hit wonders like Trippin' Daisy (where did they go?)?
I have intentionally left out the 80s because to me they should never have existed and to which all should be forgotten. Whip it..whip it BAD....!

The Beatles!!!!Who else changed the whole world and actually inspired half the bands out there now?They changed the way people dress,the mod look,inspired the whole British Invasion and continued to individually do great things like John Lennon,and Sir.Paul McCartney and George Harrison even Ringo somewhat,and all were pretty good lads!

That is a very difficult question to answer. They are all good in their own way. The Beatles moved music forward so very much in the USA, but the Stones were great too. I think the single best musician may be Eric Clapton, but there are also so many other who are great in their own right, too. Pink Floyd is up there also. I guess to answer your question I would have to say IDK- I don't think there is one "Best".

Start w/ Clapton, Cream, Derek and the domino's,blind faith,traffic and several others. individually and together the members of these bands have influenced generations of rock
