i usually get to kno ppl b4 i get into a relationship with them, and usually they turn into friendshipz wit a lot of flirting, so i was jus wondering if thatz a good idea or not....

There is no best way, because, there are benefits and downfalls to both.
Falling in love with a friend can be a wonderful thing because the greatest loves say that there partners are their best friends, but if it doesn't work out, you may loose your friend.
Dating a stranger is good because it is new and exciting finding out about someone and getting all those goofy feelings of new and refreshing, the down side of it is having to go out with someone new, always trying to be your best, not knowing what the person is going to actually be like, things like that.
I say you should go with your gut feeling and go out with who makes you happy.

It depends on your personality, for example I like to meet someone completely new and then to investigate him little by little. All guys I'd alredy known never became more than friends to me. But I don't guaranty that one day I couldn't end up with a man who was once my friend. But no one can say what is better, I think it is the best to go out with someone you really like and you feel good about, and of course if that person feels the same for you.

Depends on what the situation...if you are just wanting a fling then someone new wold be less of a hassle....if you are looking for a long term partner it would be better to have someone you know

I think it is better to know them first... flirting is good. But still, take care..... once you are friends it is harder to make advances on the other person... she or he might still think that you are flirting only, and not take you seriously at all.
If you want something, you have to be firm about it.
