i am trying to find out the name of a movie about these vans from the 70's they use to hang out at sonic?

i can't remember much but they hung out in a place like sonics and at the end of the movie one of the guys takes his van and drives it off the cliff. The vans had beds in them and where real hooked up. It was a 80'movie
