When a tach dies in a boat it is usually a broken wire. Or more than likely corrosion on a connection. If you do not feel comfortable checking the wires backwards to the engine get a mechanic. You need that tach, running the engine's out of sync can cause a pile of problems

Tach is bad or wire that goes to it.
Switch with the starbord tach and see if it works.
This will show if it is wire or tach.

Are you sure it's a 350? I thought those were 302's.
