Okay, I just got a positive with the Kmart american fare generic. It was within time limits and is light but there. I took a First response right after to confirm...using same sample and it was negative....maybe a squint and hold it up to the light positive....but really a negative. I'm now wondering the same thing. Is it giving me a true positive and FRE is garbage...or is this just a false positive????? Much Luck!

Earth,
I have taken that brand before. I'm agreeing with a good majority of people in here. You are DEFINITELY pregnant. You can get a false negative, but not a false positive. That's what my Dr. told me as well. The line can be faint because you are really early. If you'd feel more comfortable in waiting a week and taking one go ahead, but I would suggest to go to your Dr. because than they can start monitoring you right away. Sometimes they'll want you to wait till you're 6-7 weeks pregnant, but it depends on your doctor. Congrats!!!!

YES you can get a false positive! It is very rare but my ob said that it can happen! It happened to me and they said there is no way to know how you test positive and not be PG. I tested positive with the urine and then the blood test said NEG. It was heart breaking for me. I believe you're pregnant.
No other HPT's are going to tell you any different result. Unless you get an early HPT and the line is darker. But I want to say congrats and I wish you a healthy 9 months!

Any pregnancy test you can find ... expensive or cheaper than cheap will be as accurate as it can be. If it says positive, even the slightest bit ... YOUR PREGNANT. You have like a .000001% chance of not being pregnant if it says positive. The hormone found in your urine is only there if your prego and that's what the test reads.... If it says negative you are either not pregnant or its too early to tell. That is consistent with all brands, makes and models of pregnancy tests. I also go with Dollar Store tests !! Hasn't failed me yet :)

I Dont know much about the brand but I do know generics have to as good as the name brand. So if its saying you are pregnant im guessing you are. Call around to family planning clinics and go take a free test there they are more accurate and you wont keep spending money on these home pregnancy tests. Plus if you need it they can counsel you on your options.

Sweetheart you are pregnant. I would call your doctor and set yourself up with an appointment. When I got pregnant with my daughter I used a Dollar Tree pregnancy test. I swear by the Dollar Tree pregnancy test. It doesn't matter how much you pay for a test or if it is a generic test. Remember even a faint line means your pregnant...Congratulations!!!

It doesn't matter what brand, it is pretty tough to get a false positive (although some medications can do this). You need to have HCG in your urine to get a positive result. I think you should not waste any more money and go to the doctor-good luck!

Until you actually go to the doctor you wont know for sure, but yes I have used that kind once with my last son and I got a positive reading. You can get false positives and false negatives though.

Even if the line is faint, you are pregnant. I am 4 months and when I took mine it was a faint line. The faint line means the Hcg hormone was detected, it just wasn't very strong in your body yet. CONGRATULATIONS!

well never have..if you want a accurate pregnancy test...get one taken by your doctor..I have said this numerous time b4...get one by the doctor...theirs are more (100%) accurate than the ones that are in stores. Doctors (i think) check through your blood...the ones in stores are your urine. Just get one from the doctor to be sure about this.
