Other than going back to school, if you want to paint houses and buildings, try making a presentation to a large real estate company where they sell nice and expensive homes. Salespeople typically give the buyer a gift at closing. What would be nice than an original drawing of their new home! This applies to commercial real estate as well. Good luck

A good way to get your name out there is to find a run down building in an economically depressed part of town and get the city or owners permission to do a landscape mural on the side of the building. Put your name and email adddress at the bottom of course. Cities love for people to add an element of art and style to a place that needs some real renovation and help. Also try a landscaping company to draw out clients before and after projects to increase the ability to sell project ideas to homeowners! Good luck!

I think you should look into architecture. An architect draws buildings. Or hook up with a landscaper or nursery and draw for them. Landscape architect too, would be something you should check out. People who are building architects and landscape architects can make some serious bucks.

Become an architect. My father is one, and he swears he'll be at his drafting board until his dying day, he loves it so much. But make sure you have a good grounding in math, too--it's more than just pretty pictures. I have a cousin who also an architect. One time he guessed at some measurements for a beam, and if the contractor hadn't caught it, the entire building would have collapsed.

If you want more of a fun fantasy type job, consider drawing concept art for video games, education materials, or even movies. Concept art comes from the imagination.
