using colored paper, and asking them which color is it.
The teacher makes the letters in the shape of the albhabets and asks the child to tell which letter it is.
and then give them letter like B N OR G A L F T O U. to form words. Then the child can make words like ful, Fool, frog, bat, brat, at , organ.
another activity is teach them aeiou are vowels and the others are consanansts. like o is a vowel, w is a consanant and l is a consanant. so what do we get children, AN OWL. Than make a sentence: I am a night owl.

Weather charts, leaf collections, kids love bugs. Caterpillar to butterfly...get some caterpillars so the kids can see the stages. Fill a small plastic bottle with sand, dirt, beads, water, and blue food coloring. Makes a sea scape. My daugher has kept hers on a table for two years now. Visit the library for many, many more.

Or, have them go outside for this activity with the pinwheels and a toy man with a parachute, etc.
