Don't mess around with OTC remedies or herbal stuff for a condition like this. First of all, were you properly and medically diagnosed with ADHD? That means blood tests, brain scan, and psychological testing. Don't just read down a list of "symptoms" and think you have it, or deal with a doctor who just says you do. If it is truly and well diagnosed, there are things that can be done, but get to a specialist, if you haven't already.

I have had wonderful results treating my sons ADHD with dietary ( organic everything I can get my hands on, and as low preservattive as I can get it) restrictions, VERY low if any sugar allowed, and a combination Flax/Fish/Borage oil (capsules), plus a multivitamin high in Zinc, C, and B vitamins. I also use herbal remedies for any illnesses they have instead of medications - much fewer if any interactions. I am at windstarhealing.com if you have any questions.

I have ADHD. It can sometimes be caused by a genetic disorder called Pyroluria. It is a genetic deficiency of vitamin B6 and zinc. At least 10% of the population has been found to have this disorder and so it is quite common. Stay away from anything with red or yellow food coloring....that makes it worse. Get Joan Matthews Larson's book, "Depression-Free Naturally...." this book deals with all kinds of conditions, not just depression....and she talks about attention deficit. This book changed my life....good luck.

first start with diet. NO red dye. For some reason this increases the hyperactivity. limit sugar intake. cut out sodas. more fresh and natural foods will help. Then there is a natural supplement called Co-enzyme Q 10 that helps with concentration.
AND never consume artificial sweeteners..those mess up everything.

Up to now there are no solid research data, that any such remedy is effective. But some sources show that keeping a food diary may help.

In one case, for instance, a young woman has figured out that french fries, soda, and tomatoes severe her condition. So thanks to minimal limitations in her diet she was able to keep her disorder under control.

Policosanol and chromium picolinate. I've also heard that coenzyme Q10 is a very good alternative to things like adderol. Alpha Lipoic Acid is something that people have had a lot of luck with as well. Good Luck

My 3 yr. old has ADHD and Autism. Dr's. pressure me into giving him medication at a very young age. I simply just tried. I used Methylin 2.5.

His behavior completely changed. He became extremely aggressive, throwing toys, biting, kicking, pinching, etc. After almost two months I stopped giving him the medication.

I suggest you try this site below http://www.nomoreadd.com/cp1.html

Hi, try going to yourcellhealth.com, view the short movie clip to help you understand the biology behind how our cells communicate. Children with ADD and ADHD are suffering from an inability biologically to deal with the toxins in our environment. Aiding the body in its ability to rid itself of these toxins will help the child overcome their struggle. I personally have a son with ADD who benefited from these nutrients greatly. Support his body and it will heal and detoxify itself given the correct nutrients. You can contact me from that site.

Try ashwagandha--it's an East Indian herb that is good for mind and body. Look online for it, I have bought it from online herbal sources.
