It would appear that a lot of folks are mindlessly having a knee jerk reaction. This is NOT an anti-America question, though it appears many of you are taking it that way. It's more a question about labour conditions in the US. Does mere discussion threaten you so?

because people that work for low wages have no voice in our government; most americans hate paying taxes; most americans are taught that capitalism is the greatest economic system even when it hurts the little guy; buisness and industry take priority over the welfare of the common people, social problems, the environment, etc. all according to our current republican lead government! so, to answer your question we have chosen to tolerate these things.

We would rather work than be homeless. Atleast we have a job to go to. Not to mention that on our hard back breaking low wage, poor benefits, abusive work environment job; we still pay taxes to feed the less fortunate in other countries. Americans are hard workers and good people, you can learn something from us.

Because of over population, there is always someone to take your place for lesser wages. Also, laziness is a contributing factor as well.

they are too busy worrying about oil rich states, and not about the home economy. At least George is in his last term though

we have it better than a lot of countries. no system is perfect and there will always be someone that goes nuts.
