If you are ABSOLUTELY sure they are both of the same sex and they aren't fighting, then it is perfectly fine to house them together. If you are mistaken about their gender however, you might wake up one morning with babies in your cage......

I heard that as they grow into adults, they will fight.

I wanted to purchase two boy hamsters... they were brothers. The clerk in the store advised me not too and said as they get older, they will fight. I ended up leaving the store with one black bear hamster. I've had him for about 6 months (although, he's about 8 months old) and he's a chubby and heavy little guy that's afraid of everything.

No, you cannot house "teddy bear" aka Syrian hamsters together. They are solitary animals. Your girls may not be fighting yet, but I promise they will be. Buy a second cage for their safety and happiness.

IF they were raised together, it would be okay to put them together, but if you see one sign of fighting, you might need to seperate them. I have two female Chineses dwarf hamsters and the bigger one almost killed the baby. Don't take that chance. If you see squealing or sudden movements caused by the other, go ahead and seperate them

It's not recommended to have to adult females together. They may not be fighting if they are still young (under 3 months old) but you may want to consider separating them before something happens.
