According to a story at MLB.com, it appears that they will release Sheffield. With all the bench players they have, they have plenty of people to play DH already. Especially after Matsui is back, the outfield will be Abreu, Damon & Matsui, Bernie can DH when Giambi doesn't.

Sheffield is history so is his attitude. Abreu will be the starting right fielder now and next year. End of story.

Gary Sheffield could of been one of the best ball players of all time, but he doesn't think about the game like a true player that loves the game. its all about the money for him. and i hate players like that so i don't care were he goes. i bet if a team from Japan League would show him the money that's were he would go.

I believe Sheffield is a free agent at the end of the season.

I doubt the Yankees will exercise the option on his contract and i believe that'll make him a free agent and if he's healthy next season i'm sure he'll entertain a lot of offers

What will happen to Sheffield?

He'll turn into a big baby and start crying. That's what he does best.
