Yes. I know because we have one living in our home. Her name is "Adelaide" and she is very "real".
She spelled out her name on a Ouija board when my kids were very young and playing with the board. It is not a name they would have ever thought of. Turned out that the original owners of our house had a very odd daughter named 'Adelaide'.
She zeroed in on one of our dogs. He would stop in his tracks and start barking at seemingly nothing. He would stare into corners and all sorts of other strange behaviors.
Candles regularly are removed from candlesticks. The toilet paper is always put into a rolling from above position.
Lots of little things like this have gone on for twenty years....

When we stop living the lives we were meant to, we become ghosts after death, so we get opportunities to live out the lives we were meant to.
Now are you living the life of a ghost? Ask yourself every day.
Don’t end a day without a prayer expressing gratitude for it, so that if you Passover in your sleep you can move on, peacefully.
Many Buddhists even start their day with a similar prayer.
Consider this day to be your last, and start living as if it really was, do everything you have always wanted to do or be. So that you have no unfulfilled desires or wishes to hang around for later.
Honour your dreams as well as your fantasies every thing that is you, is sacred.

i guess one could interpret "ghosts" as something in one's past that is very haunting. such as the death of a friend or a terrible fight or something. if you look at it this way, yes there are "ghosts" because we are all guided by what has happened in the past and either try to live on with the haunting memory or try to improve from that experience. i'm not talking about the white sheer floating around ghosts you see on halloween, but a metaphorical "ghost" which translates to more of an experience.

If I am a host today for you, you might regard me as a ghost tomorrow. This is our experience - real life drama!

i think there are ghosts everywhere...i think we walk with spirits everywhere....i have always lived in old houses and i have seen movement and figures in all of them...i believe all humans leave their emmotional imprint on places they live...and places they love.

I wouldn't really class this as "philosophy". Try the "mythology" forum to get an answer.
