Sometimes.

Personally I'd rather spend $100 on a sony or pioneer DVD player than $25 on a Daewoo or other lesser known brand.

Mid quality is always best in my opinion. You get quality that you wouldn't get from cheap stuff and it's not as pretentious as some richy rich, flashy product that you might spend way too much on. In short, you get the best of both worlds with mid quality products.

It just really depends. For instance, on a show a few years back they were driving a Bentley (or Rolls) and they were hot rodding it a bit and it messed it up. Those cars are MAD expensive, but a car less than half the price can take the same abuse with no problem.

not always, but many times it will be true.
especially if you are in the exact same store or situation.
example; if you are in panama buying a panama hat from the guy who makes them it might be the same quality you would get in an upscale hat store here for much more. but the situation is pretty different. if you are looking at seconds or consignment or thrift stores or garage sales you can get the same quality for less.

but if you are in wal-mart and there is a price difference, there is usually a quality difference also.

Not really! There's a package of salt that sells for $50. and yet there are some that sells for $1, yet they all taste the same. It has to do more with your psyche.

not necessarily
there are certain things I buy the more expensive one of, like mac & cheese, just because I like it better, but other things, like clothes, often the more expensive ones wear out sooner

Not all of the time but it is not a terrible rule of thumb because it is right more often than not

often times yes, but don't think just because it is miore expensive it is better, and just because something is better doesn't mean it is better for you!
