I say in order to join our country they should have to learn our language, and join our military. I also think there may be a conspiracy going on with our boarder patrol. How are so many getting into the country? I watched a video the other day of Mexicans jumping fences, and just running across the boarder like it was nothing. No one there to stop them. What would you do about illegal immigrants?

Don't some of you people realize we can't just let them all in. We would have thousands more hobos, and beggars than we do now. We would have thousands more people on well fare (our tax money) Most of them don't even have proper education. They couldn't even get jobs at fast food restaurants.

We have to be able to keep some sort of track of every person living in this country; how do we do that? Build a huge wall like the old Berlin Wall or the Great Wall of China, to do what? Plus just having live people guarding our borders leaves other areas of the country unprotected which would mean, perhaps, a mandatory draft; I think we should get into the 21st century more and use some technological deterrents (to be determined). Maybe we should have a "stop in your tracks" day, where we all should gather and be counted....naw, that's too Soylent Green.

Migration in an international economy is always going to be a problem, monitoring the calibre of those entering and leaving has to be controlled. In the case of the US and the EU migration to acquire skills is a benefit.
Illegal immigrants are a different problem, these people have no rights of domicile, access to healthcare or employment rights, therefore they are exposed to exploitation. If all employers, be they private or public, paid the going rate for jobs, ensured that employees were correctly registered for taxes before employing them, the attraction to entering any country illegally would not exist.
Wishful thinking perhaps?

it really depends on the situation. Here in Arizona this is a huge problem. There first thing I would say is yes I agree before a person moves to any country they should learn the lang. Once there they should have a job and pay taxes. other than that I don't really care. I can say though that the folks that are here and illegal, should not be made felons for try to take a shot on a better life. that is crap. You see on the news here these people being taking away in cuffs that are just trying to work.

Illegal Immigration only became an issue because it forced on the American public by conservative policy makers who have nothing else to get their voting base excited about. In 1986 there was a massive policy change towards immigration, forcing most immigrants to enter the US illegally. The fact is: the more you try and stop immigration the more you force people to use illegal means to get here. Because of the graying of America we need a labor force in the US more than we ever have. Immigrants should be given many more legal ways to do what they are going to do anyway.

Build a fence or wall hire more border patrol agents or secure with large numbers of reserveists and national guardsmen, Deport all Illegal's that we catch and make them start at the end of the line, make the Mexican Government select who gets to the front of the line, find a way to speed up the process of processing the paper work for those trying to get here, and make sure we can get background checks on them so we know only good citizens are coming across. and remember not all systems are going to work there will be problems with any system in place and those who are criminals will always be trying to get here without the system....

You probably won't agree...
I'm not an American, but giving citizenship would be a good start. English wouldn't be a necessity. In fact the border would be so easy to control. It's just about political will. Illegal immigrants bring a lot of cheap labor to your big companies. Since they are not citizens companies can treat them any way that suits their purposes. When you are not a citizen to whom can you complain? This is also driving your economy. So, because of this the immigrants are allowed to come.
From military point of view it would be very easy to control the border. Don't be fooled by your politicians propaganda that it would cost too much. It wouldn't. Ask whose money is in their pockets. Who are paying for their election campaigns?

Who cares? Why can't everyone leave these immigrants alone? All they're trying to do is make a better life for their families who live in a much, much poorer country than ours. Wouldn't you do the same for your family if given the opportunity? If you could go to another country to make a better living to support your family, wouldn't you? It's not like we can't afford it, we're one of the richest countries in the US, so why is everyone complaining? The reason the gas prices are up, is because of the govt. They're the ones who need questioning, not the immigrants. Like I said, they're just trying to better themselves, there's absolutely NOTHING wrong with that. Don't you want the best for your family? Live and let live, peace, love, and happiness. I bet none of these immigrants has done anything to affect you personally, have they? Just accept it, and leave these poor people alone.

I'd give them a choice, get shipped back to where they came from, or pay all the taxes that they should've been paying since they got here, and then have them start the visa process.
As for stopping them from crossing, It's pretty much impossible, unless we recalled our troops and told them to defend our borders....what an idea. We'd have our troops out of Iraq and defending our country, suggest it to Bush he'll do anything.

It's like that in most countrys...you have to learn the language...if you want to work you have to have a right to work permit...I have no clue why we are so lax about this in our country.
We may have been built on the back of immigration...but our ancestors came in legally...not like rats across a fence in the middle of the night.

First I would kill everyone on Murder Row. Those people that have been waiting years to die. I would kill them. In order to make room for all the illegal immigrants comming over. When I cought them. I would give them 10 years in prison. Then when they got out, I would deport them to the country from which they came.
Try to come to America illegally, and you loose 10 years of your life. I would not allow them to study while in jail. They would just loose 10 years of thier life. PERIOD.
Then they go back to the **** hole that they came from.
