He's such a great guy, caring for all the worlds problems (which he didn't do before he realised the commercial success of Live aid) ... yeah, I love guys worth over £200m harping on about poverty, and how we should all do more ..... like him giving £199m away and still being richer than 99% of the worlds population .... he's such a great guy to be so rich and yet care SO, SO much about poverty.....

should he be knighted for his outstanding contributions towards eradicating it?

No. And no. He's a loud mouthed, opinionated twit. If he cared that much, he'd give all his money away. Then go and do us all a favour and lock himself away, in a very far away place. And shut up.

Yes he should be knighted. but a saint? no never . what about those selfless aid workers and people who have spent there lives helping really poor & oppressed people all over the world who aren't rich or famous, they should be knighted . just because bono is famous is why people think he is doing so much but im not saying he didn't do much he gave away most of his money but would'dt you want to keep some money i would he deserves knighting but not to be sainted not even geldolf deserves that

oh pleeeze....yah, so he does charitable work....the thing about celebs - they make so much $$$ they can afford to give away a few million. if every celeb charitably donated a few million to the cause in africa, or ethiopa, or even in the U.S. there wouldn't be poverty and hungry children. i heard that Bono once paid in the thousands to have his hat flown in cross country because he couldn't do a show without it....A HAT!...those thousands could have help five families recover from Katrina.

Do saints pay thousands of dollars for a 1st class airline ticket to fly their favorite hat across the Atlantic? I think not.

No... definitely should NOT be made a saint.

He is a very good guy for doing that. But he has millions and should be doing that. So should all of the celebs that make millions, that should put a stop to poverty.

if hes made a saint does that mean he has to die?? well i aint arsed if he gets sainthood just as long as he shuts the f*ck up about poverty and does something about it apart from flying around the world (1st class almost certainly) and bitching.

I believe in the third world war
I believe in the atomic bomb
I believe in the powers that be

if he is then no, i thought saints were peaceful

I'd probably support his knighthood, but never sainthood. Come on, all he's really done is financial, he's not experienced any kind of hardship himself, not that would justify him anything near saintliness.
